The Truth about Leadership

Leadership… big word!

There is a vacuum of true leadership in many (if not all) sectors of our society. This is a sad reality. The sadder part is that, in the absence of leadership, organizations can never serve its purpose of being a social architect. Bennis (2009) posited;

 “Organization is, or should be, a social architect – but this means that its executives must be social architects too. But first of all they must guarantee that their organizations are honest, ethical institutions. Then they must redesign their organizations in order to redesign society along more humane and functional lines. They need, in a word, to be leaders, rather than managers “.

Am I one of them?

Have you ever asked yourself why God spent a special time creating you and placing you in this world?

Graduation day. I asked the valedictorian of the batch what drives him to study hard and excel in school. He said “I want to have a good life someday! I want to give my family everything they need in life!” I congratulated him and told him to keep up the good works. However, as I turn away from him, I feel that something is missing. There is something lacking in the way he answered my question. Maybe, it is just that I think, a man with such brilliance should go beyond the ordinary, beyond himself and beyond the four corners of his own family. Continue reading

I always believe that there is something good in every person since basic to our nature is that we are all created in God’s own image and likeness. Logically speaking, everything in us is good for our source is the “Supreme Good.” Every human person is filled with goodness.
