I always believe that there is something good in every person since basic to our nature is that we are all created in God’s own image and likeness. Logically speaking, everything in us is good for our source is the “Supreme Good.” Every human person is filled with goodness. Ironically, at times man becomes the passage for evil to triumph in this world. A student once asked me “Why is it that God allows evil things to happen? Why doesn’t God put a stop to this?” My answer was simple. It is about human freedom and not God’s will. He wants only good things but it’s just that man doesn’t want to cooperate. Most of the times, we are acting like an unruly child who doesn’t want follow a good advice. We make the satisfaction of our desire our priority. We were given the talents, but in the end, the output still lies on how we respond to the circumstances that take place in our lives. I call it, “cooperation”. Every one of us is a co-operator in this world. As John Masefield said “Sitting still and resting make no person great. The good Lord sends the fishing but you must dig the bait.” God can change your life; can make this society better only if we co-operate to his plan. There is an innate gift in us from God. It will flourish if we do our part.
